Belle and Sebastian will return to Canada this spring with shows in Montreal (April 28th @ MTelus) and Toronto (April 29th @ History). Both shows will be supported by The Weather Station. The shows are part of a coast-to-coast North American run of dates kicking off in Atlanta on April 23 and wrapping up in Seattle on May 19th.

The group is presently operating in peak form and their summer UK dates have drawn high praise. “Belle and Sebastian have expanded into a multilayered outfit dabbling in a cornucopia of styles,’ wrote the Times following the band’s two-night run at London’s Roundhouse. “Against all odds, [they] have evolved into something brazen and unpredictable.”
Earlier this month, Belle and Sebastian celebrated the 25th anniversary of its cherished third album, The Boy With the Arab Strap, (1998) with a limited edition reissue featuring blue vinyl and blue-tinted cover art.
Back in January, the group released Late Developers, the second of two back-to-back albums following last year’s A Bit of Previous. It is a full-hearted embrace of the band’s brightest tendencies that is not only fresh and immediate, but possessing that B&S je ne sais quoi – the feeling that the group will always be there for you with the perfect word or melody for the moment. “Like ‘If You’re Feeling Sinister’, this is a near-simultaneous follow-up that’s somehow even better than its acclaimed predecessor,” wrote Pitchfork.
