Lifeguard announce new single. Shows in Toronto and Montreal

Lifeguard are kicking off the summer with a new single, “Ministry / Energie” b/w “Telepathic Love.”  It includes one new song and a cover of a classic The Wipers tune, both recorded in Los Angeles with producer Randy Randall (No Age). It’s the first new music from the Chicago trio since their Matador debut, Crowd Can Talk + Dressed in Trenches (2023)The songs are out digitally today with a physical 7” to follow in October.

The band is on the road now, with upcoming shows in Toronto (Thursday @ The Monarch Tavern) and Montreal (Friday @ Cabaret Foufs) leading into their first-ever overseas jaunt.

Last Summer, the group – Asher Case (bass, vocals), Isaac Lowenstein (drums, percussion), and Kai Slater (guitar, vocals) – released its Matador debut, the 12” double EP Crowd Can Talk + Dressed in Trenches. They toured the US with labelmates and fellow Chicagoans, Horsegirl, opening the trip with a packed show at Central Park SummerStage and closing with a sold-out homecoming at Thalia Hall. They have since stuck close to home, working up a full-length follow-up to CCT + DIT.
