Record Store Day 2024: Gene Clark, This Is The Kit & More

Our favourite non-denominational holiday is almost among us, Record Store Day 2024! Like anything worth participating in, you’ll need a plan of action, so we’re here to give you a rundown of a few of our titles to keep an eye out for on the racks come April 20th.

First off 4AD Presents: GENE CLARK – No Other Sessions (1974-2024: 50 Years of No Other)
The 50th Anniversary celebration of Gene Clark’s classic 1974 album — Double black vinyl edition of studio outtakes that shine a light on the making of a timeless album + beautiful mirrorboard sleeve ft. rare in the studio photographs & track-by-track notes by Sid Griffin.

Another from the 4AD camp, we have the Spoonfed Hybrid Self-titled 30th Anniversary Edition 2LP. The package contains the original album plus a bonus disc of outtakes & demos, available on double black vinyl (one-time pressing). The duo of Ian Masters (Pale Saints, Isolated Gate) and Chris Trout (A.C. Temple, Bear) – Spoonfed Hybrid was Ian’s first move after departing Pale Saints.

Now from Rough Trade, we have the Live At The Minack Theatre, from This Is The Kit. On May 19th, 2023 Kate Stables and her band played 2 shows at the stunning Minack Theatre in Cornwall, one afternoon matinee, and one in the evening. Now for Record Store Day, a live recording of the late show will be made available, marking the first live album released by This Is The Kit. Featuring tracks from critically acclaimed albums ‘Careful Of Your Keepers’, ‘Off Off On’ and ‘Moonshine Freeze’, Live At The Minack Theatre sees the band (including three-piece horn section) on top form, responding to the resplendent surroundings in front of a hugely appreciative audience. The package arrives on Limited Seagrass Citrus Vinyl.

“Stuck In a Room” – From The Matinee Show

And Finally, from our good friends over at the Beggars Arkive, we have a Picture Disc 12″ of The Charlatans debut single, “Indian Rope”! After being out of press since 1990, the record is getting a much deserved special release.
